Although in the past, my work was sold at galleries
and high-end craft shows, these days it is sold by commission only.
To place an order, review my Portfolio of representative work and pick out the elements you prefer, such as a ladder,
swing, bridge, suspension bridge, rope rail, steps, rock walls, brick chimney. Also, make note of the kind of wooden
base that catches your eye. I can make most anything out of wood so don't be afraid to use your own playful imagination.
Specify also whether you want a piece that will sit on a table or credenza or one that will hang on a wall. Many people
prefer to have illumination from the inside so that the sea glass will be more colorful. This is accomplished by using
an LED light, wired to a battery pack (3 AA, included) which is built into the piece and hidden, with a button switch easily
accessible but also hidden. Once you have chosen all the elements you want, please note
them in an email to me or call me at 207-773-3263 so we can discuss your choices and I can give you an estimate of costs.
I emphasize "estimate." Sometimes, I cannot accurately predict the time it will take to reach a desired effect
and that can boost the cost. If you tell me a maximum cost that you don't want exceeded, I will try my best to stick
to that or if I begin to think what you've ordered will exceed that maximum, I'll call you so you can decide whether to pursue
a particular element. Usually, a deposit of $100 is required. I do not accept credit or debit cards. Items are paid
by check only, made out to Dennis Sheehy and mailed to my address: 77 Monastery Rd., Cape Elizabeth, Me 04107.
Checks take a little longer but are more secure and less expensive in the long run. We will also discuss
when you'd like to receive your Gnome Home. Backlogs vary but I'll give you an estimate of when you can expect it.
If you have a critical deadline, such as a birthday, wedding or holiday, I'll do my best to accommodate you. If I have
to put aside other projects, there may be a premium cost. We can discuss. When
I'm done with your Gnome Home, I'll take a digital picture of it and email that to you. If you approve of what you see,
I'll take it to the UPS store I use and get the cost of packing and shipping. I'll call for your approval of that cost
and wait for your check, which will include the packing and shipping plus the remaining balance for the work (after subtracting
your deposit). After the check has cleared my bank, I'll send the finished piece. It will be insured with UPS
for the full value. In 14
years, I've never had a Gnome Home returned, though I've repaired a couple that were damaged by a moving company. I'll
do everything possible to ensure your satisfaction and be sure you have purchased a work of art that meets your aesthetic
desires and brings joy and smiles to you and succeeding generations. NOTE:
IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN PURCHASING A PHOTOGRAPHIC IMAGE, THE PURCHASE PROCEDURE REMAINS THE SAME. AFTER RECEIVING YOUR
CHECK, I'LL TRANSMIT VIA EMAIL A DIGITAL, HIGH-RESOLUTION COPY OF THE IMAGE TO THE EMAIL ADDRESS PROVIDED. THE COST
OF EACH IMAGE IS $40.
